The 20th annual Oktoberfest Des Moines was held the last weekend in September and Electronic Engineering again supplied radios for their wireless communications. A huge selection of German craft beers and food was available, as well as live music, bier maiden, and stein holding competitions.
EE provided two-wave radios for the Madison County Covered Bridge Festival held in the middle of October in Winterset. In its 56th year, this two-day event includes tours of covered bridges, a car show, a 5K walk/run, Civil War skirmish, musical entertainment, over 150 vendors and demonstrators, and much more.
EE rented radios in September to Des Moines Rowing’s annual regatta September 28. For over 40 years, Des Moines Rowing has held a race on the Des Moines River since 1983, making it one of the oldest and biggest regattas in the Midwest. It is a premiere US Rowing-sanctioned regatta.
Two-way radios were provided to the Des Moines Walk to End Alzheimer’s September 28. An annual walk held since 1989, in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
