The U.S. Department of Justice’s COPS Office
is now accepting applications for the FY25 School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP) — offering $73 million in funding to help schools enhance safety through evidence-based security measures.

SVPP grants support a range of school safety technologies, including:
- Entry control equipment and door locking systems
- Alarm systems and motion detectors
- Two-way radios and communication tools

- Automated emergency text/email alert systems

Electronic Engineering supplied radio communications to the CelebrAsian Festival held in Des Moines May 23-24, Iowa’s largest Asian American event. The festival celebrates Asian cultures with authentic food, cultural exhibits, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

EE provided radios to the EMC Dam to Des Moines Half Marathon that was held May 30th. In its 46th year, over 135,000 runners over the years have rushed to the finish line in one of the greatest running traditions in Central Iowa.

Once again, EE supplied radio communications to the Principal Charity Classic’s logistical operations May 30 – June 2. Principal Charity Classic is an annual PGA Tour Champions golf tournament held in Des Moines and has raised more than $62 million since 2007 in support of Iowa youth charities.
